I began donating toward Love Orphans Care Ministry Uganda in Kyamagwa, Jinja, Uganda, in 2017, through an American friend’s nonprofit organization.  I was sponsoring a boy named Ngobi Gerard.  As time went on, I began taking on more and more of the responsibility for the day-to-day operations at the orphanage and, in 2019, assembled a board – Dave Wilson and Jason Stern – and founded Mugabi Charities.  I have travelled to Uganda four times in the past six years to check up on the orphanage.  I practice the local language and have some of the basic greetings down at this point.  The children have a place in my heart and I am always on the lookout for potential partners and others who would like to be involved in this ministry.  We have set up a foundation, a Community Based Organization, in Uganda to better be able to serve these children.  We are currently working with Ekisa organization to move toward reintegration of the children.
